2026 Wedding Trends What I Expect to See Next Year Blog

2026 Wedding Trends

My final blog post of 2025!

As the 2025 wedding season comes to an end, I’ve noticed some clear themes emerging with the bookings I've already taken, and if they continue, 2026 is going to be full of intentional, nature-led, beautifully personal celebrations. Here’s a quick look at the trends I’m predicting for the year ahead.

Refined, Natural Greenery

Greenery will continue to dominate, but in a more curated, textured way. Expect soft, meadow-style arrangements, layered foliage, and subtle dried accents that add depth without feeling heavy.

Statement Ceremony Backdrops

Couples are investing more in the “I do” moment. Think modern arches, organic shapes, asymmetrical designs, and large-scale installations that feel natural rather than overly floral.

Decor That Works Twice

Practical and intentional styling is on the rise. More couples will choose ceremony pieces that transition into the reception — a sustainable, budget-friendly approach that still looks beautiful. I'm talking specifically about items such as bud vases and candles that can first be used to line an aisle, and then easily moved to the tables as centrepieces. I also have a number of backdrops that are easily moved by venue staff, and for anything else, I have my room changeover service!

Soft Earthy Tones With Delicate Pops of Colour

Sage, moss, and olive will continue trending, paired with warm terracotta, apricot, or peach. Powder blue is also quietly making its return as a fresh accent colour.

Minimalist Luxury

Couples are choosing “less but better”, so clean lines, curated decor, and intentional styling. Minimalism isn’t about empty spaces; it’s about elevated simplicity.

Sustainability Without the Label

Eco-conscious choices are becoming the norm rather than a theme. Reusable decor, reduced waste, preserved bouquets and mindful approaches will continue to shape couples’ decisions. Take a look at my preserved flower bouquets here: Wedding Bouquets

Personal Stories Over Pinterest Trends

2026 couples want weddings that feel like them. More personal touches, fewer Pinterest replicas, and a focus on meaningful details that reflect their story together.

Coordination That Feels Like Support

On-the-day coordination is becoming more sought after, with couples looking for someone calm, warm, and hands-on, someone who quietly keeps the day flowing so they can simply enjoy it. Check out my blog featuring a wedding I coordinated here: A Sustainable Summer Wedding at Danby Castle

FAQ: Wedding Trends for 2026

1. What are the biggest wedding décor trends for 2026? 2026 weddings will focus on refined greenery, intentional styling, and natural textures. Expect soft earthy tones, statement ceremony backdrops, and décor that moves seamlessly from ceremony to reception.

2. Are greenery-focused weddings still popular in 2026? Yes. Greenery is becoming even more prominent, with couples choosing layered foliage, meadow-style arrangements, and modern botanical designs that feel organic and elegant.

3. What colours will be trending for weddings in 2026? Earthy greens, warm neutrals, and soft terracotta tones will be popular. You may also see subtle pops of colour like apricot, peach, and powder blue for a fresh modern feel.

4. Is sustainable wedding décor becoming more common? Absolutely. Eco-conscious choices are becoming the norm, with couples preferring reusable décor, high-quality artificial foliage, and minimal waste. Sustainability is now expected rather than treated as a theme.

5. Will minimalist wedding styling still be in style in 2026? Yes. Minimalist luxury “less but better" will continue to grow. Couples are choosing clean lines, quality décor pieces, and thoughtful, intentional styling instead of crowded or overly busy setups.

6. Are personalised wedding designs becoming more popular? Very much so. Couples in 2026 want weddings that reflect their story and personality. This means fewer Pinterest-style replicas and more unique colour palettes, meaningful details, and custom touches.

7. Why are statement ceremony backdrops trending for 2026? The ceremony is becoming a key visual moment. Couples are choosing modern arches, asymmetrical backdrops, and large installations that frame their vows beautifully and transition well into the reception.

8. Is on-the-day wedding coordination rising in demand? Yes. More couples are looking for a calming, supportive coordinator who can manage the timeline, oversee décor, and ensure everything flows smoothly. It’s becoming a highly valued service for 2026 weddings.
