This was my first time to Webster's Ropery and I'd heard amazing things but I was still blown away!
Love, heritage, and history are the words that come to mind when I think of the delicate but romantic style venue that this once rope making factory has been turned into. Known for its rich industrial past and picturesque views, this unique venue offers the perfect setting for couples seeking an unforgettable wedding experience. With stunning photography by BSC Wedding Photography, here's a closer look at the venue as well as Kate & Ryan's day.

Dating back to the early 19th century, Webster's Ropery holds a significant place in Sunderland's history. Once a bustling rope making factory, it played a pivotal role in supplying ropes to the Royal Navy during the height of the British Empire. It has been sensitively restored with the original open beams, exposed brickwork and stonework, the original brass handrails, the open fire place and I love how even some of the light fittings encompass ropes! In keeping with the building's historic past, Kate & Ryan opted for a vintage car from Kinnie & Kinnie

Webster's Ropery's indoor spaces offer a blend of historical charm and contemporary elegance, with the banqueting suite and its quirky ropery themed styling, and the Queen View Suite with it's beautiful chiavari chairs and views over the river. For the first time in close to 300 weddings I saw a penguin theme within the decor which I absolutley loved! For their ceremony, Kate & Ryan were married in front of my Hannah flower wall, as well as having my moon with white foliage behind their signing table and ivory chiffon drops dressing their chairs. In the banqueting suite they opted for my blossom sashes.
The surroundings of Webster's Ropery provides the perfect canvas for your wedding photographer to work their magic (Graeme from BSC Wedding Photography is a regular at Webster's Ropery and knows exactly how to capture the outside spaces, they're some of my favourite photos from any wedding I've worked on). Despite being close to the city centre, it feels very secluded, and the cobbled paths along with the views over the River Wear are stunning.
I say this all the time but for me, the most important aspect of a venue is the team behind it, and again, I say it all the time, but us suppliers don't always get the warmest of welcomes (I keep going back to it but the clicky fingers in my face episode still gets to me!). As a new supplier to Webster's Ropery though, they were above and beyond helpful and kind, and in my experience if they're treating suppliers right you know they're going to give their couple's nothing short of amazing service. I can't wait to be back!
